Petit Train Du Nord Mar 23, 24

This is a report By Sharon Z who went skiing from there home up North.

Mickey and I were at our country house for the past few days – a break from the madding crowd! The skiing on Sunday and Monday was excellent. Mickey took the day off to rest yesterday because he has skied 68 km in 2 days. I went yesterday. It was a beautiful day. I tried skating first but the conditions were slow and sticky, so after about 4 km, I switched to classic which was fine. There is still a fair amount of snow but it is starting to get mushy. Ideally, we would like to go up north again this coming weekend. In any case, if we are the last skiers of the season, I think it is fitting for us to get the title as a team since I have to give Mickey credit for his outstanding achievement over the 2-day period. If I would have done that, I would not have been alive to send you this email. LOL

Take care and stay healthy!

St Bruno Jan 19 2020

Tom V notes from St Bruno

At St Bruno, we were 9 BTers. Peter and Sophie set out earlier than the rest having waited for a significant time for the rest. The rest of us waited for others who arrived late. We finally started skiing at 10:50. I have never seen the park so crowded, but once we got out on the trails that was not an issue. Bryan and Jeff split off after a while and me Robert Dennis Cheryl Helene did 15.5 km during 2h 25m with a good number of hills. Conditions were excellent and we all had a great outing. When we left the park at 1:50, cars waiting to pay at the gate were lined up all the way down the park road and then along the regular road for another few hundred meters!

Admin comment:

Clearly traffic problems caused by the snow fall, caused a confused and very delayed start.

Mont Rolland Jan 05 2020

Write up from Peter C. We were 21 skiers at Mont Rolland for our first Sunday outing of the new decade. Weather and trail conditions were great, and we spread out on the trail in a couple of different groups between Mont Rolland and Val Morin, with Mickey of course making it the furthest.
A couple of new members had, I think, a great time, with Lori getting an impromptu novice lesson from Sharon. It was a perfect, serendipitous meeting! After a good morning of varying distances we, just about all, met up at the Cafe de la Gare for soup, sandwiches, coffee and good conversation.
