In addition to the Calendar, members should refer to our weekly updates (sent out via e-mail) for the week’s definitive schedule of upcoming ski or hiking outings. Destinations may be changed at the last minute due to local conditions, and not be reflected accurately in the website calendar. Last minute updates will be posted on Twitter.
It is possible to synchronize the Beaver Tails calendar with your own calendar by clicking on the synchronize button at the bottom right of the calendar. Note the update on your calendar may not be immediate. Give it a try.
Here is some final info that may be helpful and useful. Directions to the hotel are at the bottom of this message, as are directions from the hotel to our two usual skiing destinations, their websites and trail maps. For those new to this weekend, what we usually do is ski at the Parc national du Mont-Tremblant on the Saturday morning, and at Domaine Saint-Bernard on Sunday. The specifics get discussed at breakfast. Some members often go early on Friday and ski at Domaine Saint-Bernard that day as well. The easiest way to get a ski in on Friday would be the P’tit Train du Nord, which passes right by our hotel. The website for that is below as well. Snowshoeing is also an option, as is skating on Lac Mercier right next to the hotel.
Check in at the hotel is the usual 3pm, and check out is 11am. The buffet breakfast in the dining room (you have to go through the bar) will be available Saturday and Sunday morning from 7:00 am to about 9:30. Our Cinq a Sept/Wine and Cheese on Saturday will be in a room on the second floor called Le Bernardin, followed by dinner in the dining room at 7 pm. Some folks often get together on Friday evening to go somewhere for dinner. That is up to you to plan.
Directions to Hotel Mont-Tremblant: Take Exit 119 off Rte 117 and head north on Montee Ryan. Here’s the Google map from that point:

The club’s annual ski clinic will now be held on Sat Feb 3rd at the Morin Heights Cross Country Ski Centre. The clinic is conducted by certified x-country ski instructors. It starts at 1:00 pm and lasts about 1.5 hours. The club pays for the lessons for registered members, you just have to buy a regular trail ticket. Many members go in the morning to ski on the Centre’s trails before the afternoon lesson. Meeting time is 10:00 am.
This year we will again have four classes. We will have a class for skate-skiing, in addition to beginner, intermediate and advanced level classes for classic skiing. There is room for 10 members in each class.
We need to prepare in advance for how many wish to take each class. If you want to attend the clinic please regiser by sending a message to the clinic organizer, Glenn Kyte, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure to indicate which class you wish to take: beginner, intermediate, advanced, or skate-skiing. The clinic usually fills up, so don’t delay.
