The past Beaver Tails season was very unusual in many ways. We did still manage to ski just about every weekend this winter after New Year’s Day, but we almost never went to the place we had put in our schedule. Despite the lack of snow in town for most of the winter, we could usually find somewhere to ski as long as we went far enough north in the Laurentians. Here in town, we did get snowfalls in between the regular rain days. So we did manage to ski the flat trails at Cap St Jacques on a few Saturdays. But the timing of the rain days was such that we only managed to ski on a Wed evening at Mount Royal once this year, and that was on the very last day of Feb. That was unprecedented, but this season has been all about freaky weather patterns.

End of Season Party March 17
The End of Season Party took place last Saturday at the Il Fornetto restaurant in Lachine. And boy, if there was ever a year that the season had definitely ended, it was this one! With our leap from winter directly to summer, there was clearly no way that anyone was going to get out on their skis again. Or were they?? See the next item…!
But back to the party. It was a grand affair and a great success! We gathered on the second floor of the restaurant and occupied four tables. The evening was one of non-stop conversation and revelry. Everyone enjoyed the company and the food, in equal measure. When we arrived the place was full, but by the time we left we were the last customers.
A big thanks goes out to Joanna, who once again this season came through to organize a big event on relatively short notice. Thank you, Joanna!
