St Bruno Sept 25

We had 16 hikers turn out on a unseasonably warm and sunny morning at Mont St-Bruno.  We assembled the troops, took the group photo (then re-took it a couple of times as stragglers arrived), and then set off at just before 10 am.

The first part of the hike took us past some of the private homes in the park, including the one owned by Guy Laliberté, the found of Cirque du Soleil and recent space traveller.  After a few discussions among the navigators, we then took an extra loop by Lac du Moulin, before turning back north towards Lac des Bouleaux.  That is where they have an octagonal dock in the water and always a nice spot to take photos.  But we tended not to take many long breaks, because the downside of the return of the summer-like weather was that it also heralded the return of voracious mosquitoes!  But they were mangeable as long as we kept moving.  We completed our hike of about 11 km in 2 hrs 25 mins.
