More Oka (Egon)

You may have thought that the ski season is over, but not quiet. I did the 10 km Oka ski-skating loppet today, with snow conditions being surprisingly good, unfortunately I wasn’t. If it wasn’t for some 12 year old kids I would actually have been last. This race is basically for kids, I was in the over 20’s group. The longer races have groups for older guys. Anyway – something to keep in mind for next year.

At least 3 club members went to Gai Luron Suinday, and Sue-Anne reports conditions were good,  as the photos show.

Wednesday skiing February 16

Mount Royal Feb 16 from Tom:
We had about 12 skiers out on a lovely evening with fresh snow, -7 C and low wind. Most of the group completed the 10.5 km loop.

Cap St Jacques Wenesday night February 16 : Linda H reports good conditions. Of course the weather has warmed up now.

Les Cedres Wenesday February 16 : Chritine BM comments:

Skied Les Cedres and its was very icy beyond trail # 2, they have only groomed # 2  which I only realized when I went down the ravine which has become an ice slide! and the rest of the trail is also all ice. i.e hills are also very difficult to get up.

Jan 29 Ski Clinic a Great Success

Well, Mother Nature finally relented just enough to let 30 or so of us to get on with the previously postponed clinic.  Trail conditions were very good.  Mind you, coverage is thin, but that will only matter if it rains. 

Despite the usual bit of chaos in the rather small center, all participants managed to get signed up and make it up to the Bellevue chalet where the instructors were introduced.   The appropriate groups were assembled and
