Sunday 22 January: Oka Park at 10 AM
We are going to the well-groomed trails at OKA park this week. This is a SEPAQ park so you can purchase your ticket on line which may save a bit of time at the park entrance. Park as close to Le Littoral chalet as you can.
Best to check out the website for more information: https://www.sepaq.com/pq/oka
New in 2023: Oka Park 10 AM – Snowshoeing option
This year we have a volunteer who is organizing a snowshoeing option at centres that offer both cross-country and snowshoe trails provided there is enough snow and sufficient interest. With the up and down weather conditions, which can lead to icy trails for cross country skiing, many centers offer up great snowshoeing trails. This can provide an alternative to skiing if you’re concerned about the conditions but still want to join the group on the outing.
If you’d like to add your name to the list for this week’s snowshoe outing, please contact Karen Evoy to confirm your spot by Friday; the best way to reach Karen is at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If conditions look good and there is enough interest (at least 3 people), Karen will confirm with the snowshoe group by Saturday (the day before the outing). Please bring along a pair of walking boots and/or crampons in addition to snowshoes in case the snowshoe trails are more suitable for walking than snowshoeing.
